First Recording with Alisa Weilerstein Coming from Decca October 2

With cellist and longtime exclusive recital partner Alisa Weilerstein, on October 2 Inon releases an album of monumental cello sonatas by Chopin and Rachmaninov. This is the first collaborative album by the duo, who “play with a dazzling technique and a level of communication and expression so clear that they can practically finish each other’s phrases” (Boston Classical Review). The two sonatas spotlighted on the album have been explored by the pair in concert for years, and are also accompanied by shorter works by each composer — Rachmaninov’s Vocalise, Op. 34 No. 14, plus Chopin’s Étude in C sharp minor, Op. 25 No. 7 as well as his Introduction et Polonaise brillante for piano and cello in C major, Op. 3.
Following the release of the album will be a six-country tour in November, in venues ranging from London’s Wigmore Hall to the Cemal Resit Rey Concert Hall in Istanbul, with further stops in Paris, Brussels, Copenhagen and Bonn. In early February Inon and Alisa reunite in the U.S. for two more appearances: in Fort Worth and at Stanford’s Bing Concert Hall.
