Embarking on the second of his three seasons as the New York Philharmonic’s first Artist-in-Association – an appointment that involves performances in both subscription concerts and chamber performances, and acting as ambassador for the orchestra —Inon Barnatan launches the season on Friday, October 9 in Ann Arbor playing Beethoven’s Piano concerto No. 1 with the orchestra and its Music Director Alan Gilbert. Magnus Lindberg’s Vivo and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 complete the program. On the same day, Inon presents a masterclass for University of Michigan students, presented under the auspices of a new residency partnership between the New York Philharmonic and the University of Michigan’s University Musical Society.
