This June, Inon Barnatan travels to Japan and Korea.
Inon begins in Takasaki, Japan on June 16, where he joins the Gunma Symphony Orchestra for an all-Brahms program. He performs the Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat major, which is then followed by the Schoenberg orchestration of the Piano Quartet No. 1 in G Minor. Naoto Otomo conducts. The next day, with the same program, they make their way to Ota, Japan.
On June 18, Inon presents a solo recital at Musashino Civic Cultural Hall. He performs his curated program of musical moments, with Schubert’s 6 Moments Musicaux, D. 780, Avner Dorman’s 2 Moments Musicaux, and Rachmaninoff’s 6 Moments Musicaux, Op. 16.
June 22-24 hears Inon with the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra and conductor Rossen Milanov – together, they perform Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto.
Then, in Tokyo, Inon comes to Toppan Hall on June 26. He brings a program of Debussy’s Suite Bergamasque, Thomas Adès’s Darkness Visible, Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit, and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
Finally, on June 28 he takes this Darkness Visible repertoire to Seoul’s Kumho Art Hall.
